Explorer Spotlight

*2015 Ford Explorer

The name Explorer was first used by Ford in 1968 for a trim level of the F-Series trucks.  The Explorer remained a trim level until 1986.  It was not until 1990 that the Explorer became an SUV (sports utility vehicle).

In 2011, the Explorer went through another transition.  From 1990 until 2010, the Explorer was being made as a mid-size SUV on a traditional body-on frame.  In 2011, the Explorer size became more of a cross between the Ford Expedition and the Ford Edge.

To put this size in perspective, the Expedition is on the traditional body-on frame that the Explorer used to be on, and the Edge is mid-size.

The Explorer is made to match the needs of any driver.  That is why the Explorer has the space you need to be comfortable on any ride.  And part of your sense of comfort is due to the safety features that are available.

Being an SUV, you know that the Explorer is equipped with a powerful engine.  This is especially true when you opt to get the 3.5-L EcoBoost® engine.

The 2015 Ford Explorer can match your needs with the four different trim levels available: Explorer, XLT, Limited, and Sport.  Find your Explorer today at Five Star Ford of Macon, GA!
